Puolalaisen lyhytelokuvan aaltoja Helsingissä
Puolalaisen lyhytelokuvan festivaali Short Waves keskiviikkona 19.3.2014 kello 18:00 Kampin Voimatalossa
Kampin Voimatalossa aaltoilee puolalaisia lyhytelokuvia keskiviikkona 19.3.2014. Short Wavesin ohjelmassa on seitsemän kiinnostavaa puolalaista lyhytelokuvatuotantoa: animaatioita, kertomuksia, dokumentteja, videotaideteoksia.
Short Waves starttaa Puolan Poznańista. Helsingin lisäksi festivaalielokuvat esitetään maaliskuussa lähes 50 kaupungissa ympäri Eurooppaa..
Kaikissa osallistuvissa kaupungeissa yleisö voi äänestää parasta elokuvaa. Pääpalkinto on 5 000 euroa.
Puolalainen lyhytelokuva on voimissaan. Poznanilaisen Ad Arte -säätiön järjestämälle festivaalille oli ehdolla lähes 280 lyhytelokuvaa, joista raati valitsi seitsemän.
Short Waves jo kuudennen kerran Helsingissä!
Helsingin Suomi‒Puola-yhdistys on allekirjoittanut poznańilaisen Ad Arte -säätiön kanssa yhteistyöpöytäkirjan Short Waves -festivaalin säännöllisestä järjestämisestä Helsingissä. Järjestämistä tukee Puolan elokuvataiteen instituutti PISF. Ad Arte edistää eri taidemuotoja ja esittelee muun muassa puolalaista lyhyelokuvaa Puolassa ja ulkomailla.

SHORT WAVES GRAND PRIX 2014
are 7 the best Polish short films selected from almost 280 submitted titles. Each of them fully represents the selectors’ most important criterion: artistic quality. Each of them is also a story told in a different way and through various means of expression. That is why we do not hesitate to present them all over the world and at the same time we want you to take the matter in your hands. Choose the best film. The set is to be presented in numerous cities in Poland and all over the world from March 14 until March 30. The screening which will take place on March 30 will open the Short Waves Festival in Poznań

SHORT WAVES GRAND PRIX 2014
to 7 najlepszych polskich filmów krótkometrażowych, wybranych spośród niemal 280 zgłoszonych tytułów. Każdy z nich bezwzględnie spełnia najważniejsze kryterium selekcjonerów: jakość artystyczną. Każdy z nich to także historia opowiedziana w inny sposób, przy użyciu różnych środków wyrazu. Tak otrzymaliśmy świeży, zaskakujący obraz polskiego krótkiego kina, z którego jesteśmy dumni. Dlatego też bez wahania prezentujemy go na całym świecie i jednocześnie oddajemy sprawę w Wasze ręce. Wybierzcie najlepszy z nich. Od 14 do 29 marca zestaw prezentowany jest w kilkudziesięciu miastach w Polsce i na świecie. 30 marca w Poznaniu pokaz oficjalnie inauguruje Short Waves Festival.

A small village at the seaside. A father who works a lot tries to teach his teenage son how to be a fisherman. An introvert boy-fish will have to take part in his first real rivalry. The world discovered by the boy is full of disturbing signs and intriguing observations that often evoke fear in him.
2. RESONANCE, Mateusz Sadowski

An outcome of reading and thinking about physical theories proposing the existence of parallel worlds and disputes tackling the issue of whether the world has a linear (analogous) or non-linear (discrete) structure and finding balance between divergent traits by reading, for example, Robert Walser. The film was created simultaneously with the process of exploring the aforenamed topics.
3. OUR CURSE, Tomasz Śliwiński

The film is a personal statement of the director who together with his wife has to deal with an extremely rare and incurable disease of their newborn child – the Ondine’s curse (the congenital central hypoventilation syndrome). The patients stop breathing when they are asleep and need to have their breathing supported by a medical ventilator. The film shows the process of taming the fear connected with the disease.

Hosanna is a story of a lively girls who enters the world of her grandmother – a bigot and wreaks sweet havoc in it. The granddaughter discovers a bizarre collection of grandmother’s friends and gradually examines their role in her life. The girl’s curiosity ruins and builds all over again the grandmother’s grand scheme of things.

Małgorzata (Danuta Stenka), a prominent politician, goes to a house by the lake. Her son, a drug addict, needs help. Małgorzata asks her daughter for support. When they reach the house, they discover a semiconscious boy and a massacred body of a young girl. In the time of a tragedy their mutual relations get complicated and hidden resentments are revealed. The mother has to make the most difficult decision in her life.
7.UNCONSCIOUS, Martyna Iwańska

A video clip to a track created by the Rebeka duo. The duo takes part in the clip but the most important are the leading characters played by Maria Cieślak and Piotr Stramowski as well as ascetic scenography. Unconscious is a story of hypnotizing and disturbing love relationship, a one-sided relation with surprising surrounding.
